What to look for:
The pretty white-pink flowers.

Wild Cherry is found throughout Nova Scotia in clearings, thickets and on the edges of fields. It is found as a thin shrub or small tree, up to 10 m tall. Its leaves are narrow and oval with a sharp, jagged edge. Blooming in May and early June, the flowers are up to 1.5 cm wide and grow from shorts stalks, usually after the leaves have emerged. The bark is very shiny and a deep red-brown colour.

Did you know? ... Pin Cherry got its name because the fruit is arranged like hat-pins radiating from a pin cushion.
